I have just finished reading Giles English's latest book, The Roman
Dominatrix. It was wonderful. A lot of our discussions in the femdom
blog world have been about women who are having a hard time reconciling
being dominant with being a nice girl.
They feel pressured by
their partners as well as the BDSM community to be more kinky, to be
more into BDSM, when we are really just basically vanilla. That scares a
lot of women off.
The book, The Roman Dominatrix gives me a
different point of view, and a method for being a vanilla domme, and yet
keep a happy sub. The AVE method is spelled out, easy to follow and fun
for both partners. I recommend this book very highly for new and
questioning dominants.

At your suggestion I read the book and enjoyed it. Sometimes I wonder if the roman women ended up caring for their male slaves as much as they did for their hubands. For me it is impossible to be around another person without developing feelings of some type for them. Kathy
ReplyDeleteI agree, Kathy...I have wondered the same thing. I bet some of the ladies did have a favorite slave. A pet, as it were. That's how we are, and I think it is what makes women special.
ReplyDeleteYes, one of the things I find interesting about you life is that you have both a husband and another guy, your treasure, and you love them both. While I don't really want another man in my life, I have often wondered what would happen if another man would one day show up on my door stept. If he were attractive, sweet, and caring; could I possibly find room in my heart for a second man.
ReplyDeleteI don't see it happening, but there are times when I wonder.
Love, Kathy
Each of my men serves a different purpose for me. My treasure provides me with company when I am lonely, and someone to nerd out with...we watch Dr. Who together, for instance. He is also sweet and intelligent and wants to please me. There is no sex, because of the physical distance between us. Our relationship is all in our minds and hearts. I can't help but love him, and therefore I am motivated to be a positive part of his life, however I can. I find that there is always room in my heart to love more.
